More Ways To Grow
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47
One of the best ways men and women grow in their faith is by getting together with other like-minded believers for bible study, discussion, prayer and fellowship. This stimulates our faith and strengthens both the individual believer and the body of Christ.
We’re dedicated to introducing children to Jesus every week, fostering their growth in Him, and empowering them to shine His light in their world. In our nurturing environment, infants to age two are cared for in the nursery, while kids ages three to eleven engage in interactive lessons that encourage connection with Jesus and friendship-building. Our committed nursery workers and volunteer staff ensure a fun and faith-filled experience where children can grow in love, faith, and hope.
Youth Ministry
At CGC, we believe young people have the power to change the world for God’s glory. Through our youth ministry for ages twelve through high school, we offer discipleship events and activities to help them unleash their potential. Every Wednesday, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, teenagers gather for worship, relevant messages, Bible study, and fun interactions with peers, fostering friendships and spiritual growth.
College & Career Ministry
Our college/career age ministry provides fellowship and spiritual growth to our young adults in their 20’s. Bible study, worship, and “hanging out” is part of this ministry. Also, a college campus ministry called BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) meets on a local college campus and is based out of our church.
Men’s Ministry
There are several ministries for men to get plugged into. Bible studies, men’s breakfast, and an annual retreat are some of the ways our men connect and build each other up. We also have prayer meetings and outreaches to the community for both men and women.
Women’s Ministry
Our activities for ladies provide friendships and spiritual growth. Some of these include weekly breakfasts and regular Bible studies. We also have prayer meetings and outreaches into the community for both men and women.
Missions
Outreaches We Support
We believe that missions is not just about giving, but praying and going. Our global vision is to Pray For, Partner With, and Provide Finances to those with an international vision to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of our missionaries are serving in sensitive areas that require them not to be featured on our website.
The missionaries and missions organizations we support may be found in the United States, Mexico, Mali, Kenya and several locations in Asia. If you would like to learn more about the missionaries that we support please contact us directly through the website or by phone.
Local Outreach
Street Outreach
CGC organizes a Street Outreach event on the fourth Friday evening of each month, all year round, at St. Anthony of Padua Church located at 28 State Street in Troy. There, we distribute food, clothing, blankets and toiletries to those facing hardships, alongside offering prayers and companionship. This initiative serves as a means to engage with our community and convey the love of God to them.
Capital City Rescue Mission
During the third Wednesday evening of every alternate month, CGC volunteers at the Capital City Rescue Mission located at 259 South Pearl Street in Albany. Our activities involve the preparation and distribution of meals to individuals from the community, including men, women, and children. This opportunity allows us to engage in conversations with them and impart messages of God’s love.
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is part of the Samaritans Purse ministry lead by Franklin Graham. Each year we individually and corporately pack shoeboxes at Christmas time with school supplies, toys and toiletries to be shipped throughout the world to children in need. A booklet is placed in each box bringing them the good news of Jesus. Each one is invited to a discipleship program. Over the past 30 years more than 25 million children have prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior through the shoebox ministry.
